I don't know how long it has been since the Dark took over. Night and Day are as distant as the feeling in my limp body. Time feels infinite in the Dark. It only gives one's mind a path to wander, persuading it to consider a life that's been spent. Actions. Regrets. Wishes. Goals. Maybe that is the point of the Dark, to keep your mind in motion, grinding over your life choices, tempting you to declare your life unfulfilled, and empty as the Dark's own depths. When I was young I used to think that when it rained, God was crying, and that the thunder was his agony resonating across the earth. My sheets were my only protectors during those dark nights, they kept me safe from the torrents that lashed across my window and through my thoughts. It is almost silly to think about now, when I am on the verge of adulthood, but I  always thought that maybe, if I prayed a little harder that night, or apologized for the world, God would not be so angry with us, that his pain might be healed.
